Program Director – Adult Family Care, In Home Supports and Shared Living Job at The Arc of Plymouth and Upper Cape Cod

We are currently looking for a full-time Program Director to oversee our Adult Family Care (AFC), In Home Supports and Shared Living services. The Director oversees the coordination and administration of all aspects of the service including planning, organizing, staffing, leading, and controlling program activities. The Director will ensure that all funder’s (DDS and MassHealth) regulations are maintained at all times.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Direct and supervise all aspects of the AFC, In Home Supports and SL services
  • Plan the delivery of the overall services (in-person and virtual) and activities in accordance with the mission and the goals of the organization
  • Develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction of the organization
  • Ensure that program activities operate within the policies and procedures of the organization and comply with all professional standards
  • Develop record keeping systems to document all program operations
  • Oversee the collection and maintenance of records on the members of the program for regulation purposes according to the confidentiality/privacy policy of the organization
  • Communicate with members and other stakeholders to gain community support and to solicit input to improve the service
  • Oversee the hiring, training, supervision and evaluation of all AFC, In Home Supports and SL staff and providers
  • Identify appropriate housing options with emphasis on choice of the Individual
  • Communicate with funders as outlined in funding agreements and as required
  • Conduct and participate in internal meetings and external meetings
  • Ensure that the program operates within the approved budget by monitoring and approving all program expenditures
  • Ensure that all financial records for the programs are up to date
  • Ensure financial reports and supporting documentation for funders are prepared as outlined in funding agreements
  • Provide required information to have billing and payments generated and submitted to funders according to the established timelines
  • Identify and evaluate the risks associated with program activities and take appropriate action to control the risks
  • Coordinate intake, assessment and implementation of the AFC, In Home Supports and Shared Living services
  • Ensure regulatory compliance and lead accrediting/licensing initiatives
  • Oversee and monitor debit/credit transactions
  • Oversee maintenance and confidentiality of members’ and caregivers’ files
  • Oversee and ensure completion of prior authorizations according to deadlines
  • Ensure and provide thorough training of new and existing staff as related to industry and agency best practices, including virtual support services
  • Flexibility and adaptability as related to industry and agency initiatives and changes

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant health care discipline, human services or related field and a minimum of 5 years of professional health care experience working with elders or adults is required; or a master’s degree may be substituted for two of the required five years of work experience
  • Must have at least one-year experience in an administrative role
  • Knowledge of program management and of client groups
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office & Outlook
  • Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record
