Project Analyst (HGA-BR) Job at Hunt, Guillot & Associates
The Project Analyst is responsible for analyzing and supporting projects and resources in the recovery of communities affected by hurricanes, wildfires and other recent disasters. Projects may include municipal public works such as buildings, drainage, water/wastewater, roads/bridges; housing programs such as shelter in place, temporary housing, single family rehabilitation/reconstruction/elevation; and economic recovery programs. Funding sources could include FEMA Public Assistance (PA), FEMA Hazard Mitigation Assistance (HMA), HUD Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) or HUD CDBG Mitigation (CDBG-MIT). The position will be located in Baton Rouge, LA and may include opportunities for remote work.

This position is a Section 3 covered position under the Housing and Urban Development Act of 1968. Section 3 residents are encouraged to apply. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Analyst responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Balance a variety of assignments and independently manage time and resources to deliver quality work by established deadlines
- Be detail oriented, flexible, proactive, and multi-task to quickly adapt to changing client priorities and respond to ad hoc requests
- Support project management activities, including routine status reports, quality control, risk analysis and mitigation planning, etc.
- Provide analytical, forecasting, reporting, and project support to managers
- Produce reports, which include key metrics, financial results, and variance reporting
- Analyze project data, metrics and procedures to increase efficiencies.
- Collaborate with team members, managers, clients and other stakeholders to effectively execute tasks.
- Coordinate with applicants to acquire all necessary documentation, provide updates and resolve issues.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree required preferably in Business, Accounting, Economics or Finance.
- One to two years of professional analyst experience in finance, accounting, insurance, disaster recovery, or similar fields preferred.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and teamwork abilities
- Ability to react promptly and efficiently to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to elicit cooperation from a variety of sources including team members, subcontractors, and other departments.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Capability and willingness to learn, understand, and apply new technologies and software applications.
- Ability to manage time and resources efficiently.
- Ability to identify and solve problems independently.
- Excellent typing skills and proficient in all Microsoft Office applications.
