Project Assistant Job at USC
The USC Marshall School of Business invites applicants for a project assistant to be housed at the Neely Center for Ethical Leadership and Decision Making and the Management and Organization Department. The project assistant will assist in managing the day-to-day general operations of the research conducted by the center. The project assistant will assist with research conducted by Professor Nathanael Fast and his collaborators (e.g., staff, faculty, students, and post docs) in helping to inform business leaders as they develop tomorrow’s technologies. The Neely Center leads several projects that seek to improve the psychological outcomes that arise from the increasing adoption of technology in society, by helping educate tomorrow’s leaders as to how to ethically leverage technology and make better decisions about its use. This includes projects specifically aimed at improving the impact of social media on society, educating tomorrow’s leaders on the ethical use of AI, and anticipating ethical challenges in the adoption of augmented reality.
Responsibilities: The project assistant can expect to spend their time helping to manage the research being conducted in the lab, including the scheduling and supervising the running of research studies (online, in-lab, and field studies), training and supervising of research assistants, processing and analyzing of data, completing IRB submissions and continuing reviews, keeping track of the lab budget, reviewing literature, editing manuscripts, creating study materials and protocols, and planning and organizing research meetings. They will also help to manage grants and assist in planning events.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree. Applicants should have a strong interest in social science research as applied to technology (e.g. research in psychology, human-computer interaction, organizational behavior or consumer behavior).
Experience with Qualtrics, Excel, IRB processes, SPSS, and running research experiments of all kinds in the lab and field is preferred but not required.
Excellent social and communication skills are particularly important because much of this job is managing relationships with others (e.g., vendors, event attendees, research participants, undergraduate RAs, PhD students, and the support and administrative staff at USC).

Salary Range: The hourly rate range for this position is $26.72 - $31.63.
