As a Project Manager at Johnson Outdoors Marine Electronics in Alpharetta, GA the individual will review project plan and proposals, and work with management to develop project objectives. In addition they will be responsible for:

  • Identifying project responsibilities by determining the phases and elements of the project.
  • Determining project schedule and timelines by studying the project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements and sequencing project elements.
  • Partnering with marketing to determine requirements for a new product or product platform.
  • Collaborating with engineering management to allocate technical resources for a project.
  • Monitoring project plans, reviewing any design, specifications, and schedule changes and recommending actions to improve project outcomes, product costs and capital spending.
  • Advocating for the design team, identifying and clearing potential roadblocks.
  • Identifying manufacturing/operations and purchasing issues that require resolution to successfully complete a project and drive the decision process.
  • Facilitating activities within the company in support of completing project milestones and tracking project milestones and deliverables, and effectively maintaining project documentation.
  • Communicating with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis and preparing project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends and recommending actions as needed to improve outcomes.
  • Establishing design qualification, field testing, and production testing plans and success criteria coordinating with production/operations to successfully transfer a new product to production.


Experience

Required
  • 2 year(s): Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in engineering related to design and/or project management.

Education

Required
  • Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field
