Job Summary:
PIC Group has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager at a strong family-owned Engineer, Procure, Construction, and Fabrication company located in Bellingham, WA. The Project Manager will report to the Vice President and be responsible for developing and estimating bids for industrial projects in power generation, petrochemical, LNG, renewable energy, manufacturing, and industrial processing. The Project Manager is also responsible for overall management of the project and will interact with union stewards and labor for support of estimates and execution of project. The Project Manager will have a strong background with estimating software, construction planning, scheduling, safety, and quality control in a highly industrial process environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Review project specifications and develop a comprehensive estimate to successfully perform the industrial project.
  • Quickly review and disseminate bid package documentation.
  • Work closely with proposal development and customer bid process.
  • Conduct thorough and comprehensive site visits for prospective bids.
  • Develop & nurture successful relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Identify key project risk factors for Sr. Management reviews.
  • Manage bid process schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge and experience with Construction and Microsoft software such as Primavera Scheduling, Bluebeam, AutoCad, HCSS HeavyBid, Timberline, Word, and Excel.
  • Travel to either oversee and/or manage projects outside of the area.
  • Manage union mechanical trades (Pipefitters, Boilermakers, Ironworkers).
  • Collaborate effectively with construction management & supervision to determine winning strategy.
  • Perform conflict resolution that arise in a contracting environment.

  • Ability to review project specifications and develop a comprehensive estimate to successfully perform the industrial project.
  • Supporting proposal development and customer bid process.
  • Ability to develop & nurture successful relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
  • Experience identifying key project risk factors for Sr. Management reviews.
  • Management of bid process schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Travel to either oversee and/or manage projects outside of the area.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with construction management & supervision to determine winning strategy.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to comply with site safety regulations for personal protective equipment.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk inside and outside while performing job duties on the job site.
  • Frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear hearing protection.

Education / Experience:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent is required.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience in industrial estimating and project management.
  • 5+ years’ experience as a Site Manager and/or Field Engineer on industrial construction projects
  • Experience working on projects with union labor and an understanding of collective bargaining agreements (C.B.A.’s) is a plus.
  • Experience with software used on Construction Projects such as Primavera, Bluebeam, AutoCad, HCSS HeavyBid, Timberline, Word and Excel is preferred.
