Job Summary
Organizes, manages, and plans complex projects for implementation efforts, including but not limited to Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) deployments, meter deployments, software installations, services projects, EV charging station installations and special projects as assigned. Creates and manages project plans from inception to project completion signoff. Manages the flow of associated materials for each project as needed. Maintains the schedule of jobs being handled and assures required specifications are met for all jobs in progress. Actively participates in coordinating, analyzing, and acting upon information and feedback of customer needs, pricing, products, competition, and procedures.
Responsibilities
Essential functions
Works closely with Border States personnel as well as partners to provide project management for the assigned projects to meet and exceed project budget and timelines.
Sets up and facilitates project kick-off meetings as well as maintains a regular schedule of update meetings
Manages the flow of material from the planning phase to the completion of each assigned project.
Manages multiple projects utilizing project management software and work order management systems.
Ensures quality customer support through expediting, pricing, follow-up, returns, and other services, as required.
Provides customers with timely follow-up on technical inquiries and requests.
Maintains a high level of teamwork and communication in ensuring a balanced workload within the team.
Deploys and maintains project site/ Teams channel.
Consistently provides responsive, quality service to our customers.
Actively participates in coordinating, analyzing, and acting upon information and feedback related to project needs.
Coordinates with the Customer Financial Services staff to resolve customer-billing problems resulting from errors in the quotations process, pricing, shipping, delivery or other customer service/credit areas.
Non-essential functions
Oversees all or some of the following: product application and support, estimating, procurement, material management, staging, kitting, storage, job site delivery, back hauling, and project close out.
Assists with vendor negotiations for best pricing and best delivery of products to customers and/or jobsites
Develops quotations and requests bid/performance bonds for customers within company profit objectives and guidelines.
Attends training programs, as required.
Assists with trade shows, as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum of a bachelor’s degree preferred or the equivalent in work experience.
Minimum of two years of prior project management, customer service, quotation, or sales experience with strong knowledge of electrical products and utility systems preferred.
PMP, PgMP, CAPM, and/or comparable project management certifications highly desirable.
Strong working knowledge of PC for Windows, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint), Internet, Email, SAP and Microsoft Project experience software preferred.
Proven experience in process development, process change, and process management
Skills and Abilities
Technical ability to understand utility electrical systems and product applications with prior electrical distribution experience preferred.
Knowledge of project management methodologies
Technical ability to read specifications and drawings highly preferred.
