Position Summary

The Project Portfolio Manager will oversee, coordinate, document and manage designated, college-wide projects for Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). Tracking the budget, timeline, and resources for the projects is also required. The project portfolio manager communicates progress with executive leadership and key stakeholders, monitors problems, works with the project team to provide collaborative solutions, and implements changes as necessary to ensure the project timeline is followed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintains constant oversight of project performance, including project budgets and schedules through assimilation of actual cost and schedule data, as well as forecasting of expected total costs and final deadlines.
  • Monitors intake process and portfolio management pipeline that meets the needs of executive leadership and the other Project Management Offices (PMOs).
  • Collaborates with leadership to make sure dashboards and reports are accurate, consistent, and presents the correct story.
  • Manage related approved governing board documents, committee approvals, and other project management documents, such as: Project Agreements, Change Requests, presentations, etc.
  • Gathers various elements of project performance data and routinely report to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Socializes and operationalizes Portfolio Management and Project Governance frameworks, processes, and enabling technologies.
  • Maintains Portfolio Management system and related policies and procedures.
  • Conducts periodic review of proposed projects to determine duplicate of effort, the ability to consolidate projects to achieve similar goals/objectives, and to validate continued need against evolving mission objectives and vision.
  • Establishes a formal procedure to accept and review submitted changes for in process projects with the support of the assigned project managers or project leads.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and five (5) years of related experience
