Position Summary:

The Project Specialist is responsible to manage sales opportunities to meet a given customer’s needs for an assigned territory / product line / Branch, representing Bay Valve Service’s three value propositions of Field Service, Repair Service, and Supply Service. Depending on the requirements of a customer request, the Project Specialist will size / select an appropriate product and evaluate field or shop service; prepare quotations; execute the delivery for the product and / or field or shop service as quoted; and ensure accurate invoicing for cash collection.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure safe work practices and compliance to applicable laws, regulations, and company procedures / policies on assigned projects. Own safety performance and foster a positive safety culture and attitude.
  • Generate quotes working with the appropriate company experts as required (Field, Shop, Supply Services) to ensure a quality proposal to the end customer inclusive of performing or coordinating equipment sizing / selection activities.
  • Work with the Technical Account Lead to obtain the customer PO (including Change Orders that may arise during the life of the project). Ensure POs and associated terms and conditions are received, reviewed, and booked according to company processes
  • Execute per the prepared quotation / received PO working with the applicable internal personnel to ensure a safe, quality, on time, and on budget project. Purchase equipment and materials to support the project and ensure cost and margin accountability for the project based on the final as quoted financials. Maximize project margins through change order management and / or scope expansion opportunities.
  • Conform to and implement required quality requirements as they pertain to the project. Support continuous improvement projects tracking and managing associated quality issues / rework for owned projects; ensure proper root causes analysis is completed.
  • Perform quality inspections for assigned projects ensuring tasks are audited and in compliance with the applicable quality program(s) and customer requirements. Ensure work and materials are following applicable specifications and that all workers for the given opportunity are aware, understand, and follow the required procedures to produce the desired result.
  • Prepare invoicing packages for assigned projects including but not limited to completion of job costing, assembling of backup information, updating POs, etc.

Qualifications:

  • >5 years of experience in the industries supported by Bay Valve Service with respect to system operations, pumps, and valves.
  • Experience working in a workshop environment with strong interpersonal skills to communicate clearly and work across the organization. Able to work and lead as part of a team.
  • Understanding of pressure and ability to service valves in a production environment.
  • Familiar with NBIC, ANSI and ASME codes and their applications.
  • Able to read and interpret maintenance and repair manuals and electrical / mechanical schematics for use in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical assemblies.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload to maximize efficiency.
  • Solid comprehension of welding and machining practices and standards.
  • Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office programs including skills to navigate web-based literature and programs.
  • Mechanical understanding / ability to work on both PSVs, block valves, control valves, actuators, pumps, and other flow related equipment.
  • Experience in the industrial / oil and gas / energy industry with respect to system operations and plant processes.
  • Understanding of equipment maintenance repair economics.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
