Position Location:

This position is located in Los Alamos, New Mexico.

Position Summary:

N3B is seeking Project Support with excellent communication and organization skills, a professional manner, and multi-tasking ability to join N3B’s Water Program.

The successful candidate is organized and detail oriented to provide accurate status and information to the ER Water Program Managers

This position reports to the Water Program Director.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

Support the planning and execution of environmental remediation efforts. This includes, but is not limited to, records management, organizational support, financial tracking and evaluation, tracking and reporting of metrics and developing/running requested reports for Water Program projects.

  • Responsible for supporting the Water Program organization.
  • Organize and maintain all types of project documentation and records (reports, drawings, maps, correspondence, meeting minutes, actions, metrics, etc.).
  • Run and distribute project financial and labor reports and other project metrics and data. Help the Water Program Managers resolve issues/discrepancies.
  • Support invoice reviews.
  • Receiving, reviewing, prioritizing, tracking and distributing incoming and outgoing messages and actions, via electronic means or hard copy.
  • Generating correspondence, reports, tables, forms, presentations, etc.
  • Gathering, collecting, recording, tracking and verifying information from multiple sources.
  • Compiling, reviewing and analyzing data.
  • Utilizing established or self-developed databases or systems to include follow-up of actions as needed.
  • Providing data and information to others on Water Program projects.
  • Coordinate project meetings, including in-person and online meetings.
  • May design processes to enhance project documentation workflow.
  • Prepare data and information into presentational material for the client and senior management.
  • Proficient in MS Office to include MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities):

  • Experience with administrative services and activities, including general office management and associated functions
  • Experience with administration of records meeting Federal record keeping requirements.
  • Experience with financial reporting and activities, including general accounting practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize, and follow-through to completion on multiple tasks.
  • Experience managing electronic calendars and the ability to coordinate and arrange meetings.
  • Skilled in the preparation and formatting of correspondence, reports, and/or presentations.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills, including proofreading, grammar, spelling, punctuation, accuracy, and attention to detail.
  • Skill and ability to perform critical tasks, interpret requirements, and execute plans to satisfy them.
  • Ability to have an impact on organizational success and productivity, with independent judgment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at the highest levels.
  • Ability to train and mentor more junior staff.
  • Level of skill in language, mathematics, communication, reasoning, and computers necessary to perform essential functions of the job.

Exerts some influence on the overall objectives and long-range goals of the organization. Erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would normally have a serious effect upon the administration of the organization.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, Geochemistry/Hydrology, or other appropriate related technical discipline
  • At least 10 years of relevant experience.


Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives.


Effects of decisions are long-lasting and heavily influence the future course of the organization. Errors in judgement or failure to achieve results would result in the expenditure of large amounts of company resources.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Civil Engineering, Geology, Geochemistry/Hydrology, or other appropriate related technical discipline
  • At least 15 years of relevant extensive/expert experience.


Serves as prime consultant and external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to polices, programs, capabilities, and long-range goals and objectives.


Decisions affect the financial, employee, or public relations posture of the organization. Erroneous decisions or recommendations would normally result in failure to achieve goals critical to the major objectives of the organization.


  • A combination of education and relevant experience wherein the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the position’s duties and responsibilities have been adequately demonstrated is acceptable.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Physical requirements conducive to a normal office environment. Job performance requires adequate visual acuity and manual dexterity for meeting the requirements of the discipline. Light work involves lifting no more than 20 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. May spend time in the field gathering data and monitoring environmental conditions firsthand. Field activities may require working in unfavorable weather conditions.
