JOB SUMMARY:

The Provider Relations Manager works closely with all LHC providers and communicates daily with the CMO on provider-related issues. Is responsible for business development and to promote and build relationships. Serves as a representative for the providers in bridging gaps of communications and operations.

Partners with administration, with providers and outreach provider to provide excellent patient care while focused on growth and development of the organizations service lines. Must demonstrate an extensive working knowledge of and familiarity with all applications associated with managing a medical practice. This position will assist in providing the best patient care and access through provider engagement.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provider and CMO Support

  • Routine rounding to identify and understand medical providers organizational and individual

concerns.

  • Manage provider schedules for service lines that do not manage their schedule internally.
  • Prepare and review provider payroll. Bring questions or discrepancies to the CMO.
  • Track completion of performance incentives for the medical staff and prepare / review incentive payments.
  • Organize and schedule physician meetings
  • Provide support for Medical Staff meetings
  • Track and ensure that providers have required certifications, medical staff licensure, and maintain professional society membership (in collaboration with medical staff services).

Supports CMO with contract and recruitment processes as needed.

Provider Professional Development

  • Coordinate and administer Grand Rounds monthly.
  • Coordinate and administer other medical staff education, training, and onsite conferences.
  • Locate, organize, and coordinate efficient CME opportunities for medical staff.
  • Process CME receipts and other work related expenses for the providers.
  • Track and coordinate provider annual performance reviews.

Provider Onboarding

  • Works closely with CMO, LHC Leadership, Providers and Managers to ensure effective onboarding and integration of new and providers and service lines.
  • Coordinates meetings and introductions with all providers and staff at each level.
  • Maintains ongoing relationships and engagement with all LHC providers throughout their employment.
  • Provides support in integration into the community and organization.
  • Manages relationships with all departments involved in provider employment, including but not limited to Risk, HR, Payroll, HIM, Registration and Quality.

Provider Engagement

  • Advise and collaborate with CMO on issues of provider engagement.
  • Assist CMO with celebrations of provider personal and professional milestones.
  • Arranges logistics for the annual provider retreat.

Patient Access

  • Customer service representative for the medical practice
  • Ensures adequate provider coverage to optimize patient access in clinics
  • Gathers provider feedback and works with responsible parties to enhance efficiency of medical practice operations.
  • Coordinates service line enhancements based on trends and patient needs.
  • Works closely with marketing and other departments to increase patient visibility of providers through community interaction, outreach events, provider-to-provider functions, and other activities.
  • Coordinates outreach activities such as lunch and learns, meet and greets, provider dinners, health fairs, seminars, events, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS (Required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree, or 3 to 5 years equivalent and relevant experience.
  • Three to five years of healthcare experience with a strong understanding of medical practice operations and management.
  • Experience in marketing and/or public relations or hospitality.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and customer service skills.

ADDITIONAL DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in provider management and provider relations positions.
  • Effective working knowledge of healthcare financial management, specifically medical practice accounting, third party reimbursement issues, and patient flow.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of healthcare fiscal management, human resource management and leadership management techniques.
  • Knowledge of health care administrative systems.
  • Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance requirements.
