Senior Connections, the designated Area Agency on Aging for Planning District 15 which includes the City of Richmond and seven surrounding counties, is seeking a Part Time Specialist for the Communications & Outreach Department.

Duties Include: The Communications & Outreach Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the organization and execution of public outreach events, monitoring and updating social media accounts, recording and analyzing outreach data, assisting with website updates, creating/editing basic graphic design projects, reaching out to the community to establish and maintain working relationships with community partners, public entities, and others, and other tasks related to the promotion, marketing, and outreach of the Agency. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a flexible but consistent 20-25 hours a week of availability, some experience with Wordpress and/or some graphic design experience, basic spreadsheet knowledge, the ability to travel within 25 miles of Richmond to attend events, and a passion for community engagement and outreach.

Requirements: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school is required. Certificate or degree in Media Relations or related field would be excellent. Candidate must have excellent oral communication skills and the ability to work well with the public. Must have experience with editing graphics utilizing software such as Adobe Creative Suite and editing and uploading information in Wordpress. Also needs to have basic knowledge of spreadsheets and understanding of social media such as Facebook, Instagram, etc. Must have ability to lift boxed items for tabletop displays and exhibits. Needs to have reliable transportation within our Planning District.

Benefits: Part Time employees are eligible for paid holidays that fall on their regularly scheduled work days plus 2 paid personal days, annually.
