Job Title: Purchasing Agent
Exempt
Position Summary:
Develops the analysis plan for assigned product spend categories, from need identification through
contract execution. This includes spend analysis, financial modeling, direct negotiations, legal
collaboration and contract integration with electronic units. This position is the key to achieving best
practices in the healthcare supply chain management.

specialized area of knowledge or technical field. Requires considerable tact and
discretion, and some persuasion to obtain approvals, consent and action.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing
Works with the executive team, LifeBridge supply chain and internal stakeholders to plan and source agreed upon goods and services in consideration of their total cost of acquisition and the financial and other impact to Nations Entities.
Contract Analysis
Responsible for the review, analysis and administration of local and group purchasing organization
(GPO) contracts for assigned spend categories.
Tasks:
Gathers and analyzes data from disparate systems, creating and maintaining databases as
appropriate.
Cost Reduction
Conducts timely and strategic sourcing projects improving quality and significantly lower total costs of
acquiring products and services within assigned commodity categories.
Tasks:
Works with vendors to establish appropriate PAR levels and ordering of products to support the Nations operational units.
Teamwork
Proactively assists order fulfillment and other supply chain team members to ensure customer needs
are met.

Basic professional knowledge; equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree; working
knowledge of theory and practice within Supply Chain
