Paladin Consulting is currently hiring a Purchasing Agent to join our team working onsite at our client's office located in Carrollton, TX.

Job Description & Responsibilities :
- The Purchasing Agent will purchase goods and services according to departmental and organizational policies and procedures.
- Purchase goods and services according to the company's policies and procedures.
- Coordinates with managers to maintain inventory levels.
- Evaluates vendors based on price, reliability, capability, and previous transaction history.
- Works with vendors to negotiate volume and cash transaction discounts, and other available discounts.
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Work with purchasing manager to develop, negotiate and administer purchasing agreements and contracts with suppliers in support of organizational requirements.
- Troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns, (Correct pricing on PO's to reflect correct pricing from the mfg.'s.)
- Update a supplier database in Syspro.
- Monitor and reduce purchase variances to meet profit objectives.
- Communicate with marketing and sales staff on new products purchased. Maintain an active knowledge of market, new trends, new products etc
- Assist setting up new vendors in Syspro.
- Help negotiate marketing and sales programs.
- Actively review old inventory and facilitate returns to the vendors or communicate with sales parts that should be added to the closeout file.
- Track update shipping status and communicate to sales.
- Approve and check invoices to correctly assess the vendor is billing correctly.
- Aid Accounts payable and marketing in any billing errors or co-op payment issues
- Expediently answer the discrepancy portal.
- Oversee all new parts added into all the computer systems.
- Approve Special orders daily.
- Ensures that purchasing documents are complete and accurate and include appropriate and reasonable terms and conditions.
- Maintains pricing histories and other vendor records.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Skills & Qualifications :
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 1 + years of Related Experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Thorough understanding of purchasing procedures and policies.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Strong product knowledge and ability to learn new products and apply that knowledge effectively. Ability to read and write clearly in English.
- Possess a valid Texas driver's license.
- Basic math knowledge
- Maintain a retail professional appearance as directed by VP Purchasing.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Must be able to access all areas of the facility to determine purchasing needs.
- May require travel.
- Must be able and available to work during hours for designated shift: 8:00 a.m. to 5:30. Hours are subject to change based on business need.
