Hercules Custom Iron is a premier custom metal fabricator, fence and perimeter security company in the DC/VA/MD area. We excel in commercial and high security work at some of the most prestigious locations in the United States. Hercules is hiring a Purchasing Assistant for our Walkersville, Maryland location. We are seeking an energetic, go-getter candidate interested in opportunity and growth!
Starting pay $17-$20 per hour with opportunity for advancement!
Responsibilities:
- Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing needs
- Research potential vendors
- Track orders and ensure timely delivery
- Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices
- Maintain updated records of purchase orders and receiving
- Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
- Ensure all products arrive in good condition
Experience and Skills:
- 1-3 years of experience as a Purchasing Assistant or similar role
- Good understanding of supply chain procedures
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
- Solid organizational skills
- Experience within fabrication and welding industry preferred
Requirements:
- High School Education or GED preferred
- Positive and respectful attitude
- Ability to work independently and within a team
