Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Quality Control (QC) Inspector with strong knowledge of CNC machining and inspection methods. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting machined parts produced by our CNC machines to ensure they meet specification and quality standards. This position requires excellent attention to detail, strong communication skills, and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. $35/hour pending experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections on machined parts produced by our CNC machines.
- Utilize inspection tools and equipment such as micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators, and CMM machines to verify parts' dimensional accuracy and adherence to customer specifications.
- Interpret technical drawings, inspection plans, and other customer requirements to perform inspections and determine pass/fail criteria.
- Document inspection findings and maintain comprehensive inspection records and reports.
- Work with CNC operators and other production staff to identify and correct any quality issues and ensure compliance with quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to develop and improve quality policies, procedures, and processes.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency of CNC machining operations.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures within the shop.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent. Some college or technical training in the field of Quality Control is preferred.
- At least 5 years of experience in Quality Control in a CNC machining shop.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of metrology tools, including CMM machines, and inspection methods for machining processes.
- Experience with using different types of measuring instruments including; micrometers, height gauges, dial indicators.
- Knowledge in interpretation of technical drawings, inspection plans, and other customer requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Good understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerances (GD&T).
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with minimal supervision.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work comfortably in a manufacturing setting.
