Summary
Working directly with the global and local branch team's, the successful candidate will apply process improvement methodologies and International Standards Organization (ISO) tools to improve customer service, drive new product innovation and compliance, supplier productivity, quality, cycle, and delivery performance. This opportunity involves direct contact Frontier’s largest customers in several key vertical markets including the Renewable Energy division. The Quality Engineer will report to the Quality Manager and assist in driving Frontier’s growth internally in our manufacturing facilities as well as specific large-scale projects such as Off Shore Wind turbines in the America’s.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and drive process consistency to ensure compliance with Sourcing Quality and qualification requirements. There will be an emphasis on developing the Off Shore Wind Program for both manufacturing facilities.
- Execute key Customer Service projects to reduce defects and cycle time and improve fulfillment.
- Develop & implement ISO compliant processes for applicable business functions.
- Conduct process audits and manage regulatory compliance requirements.
- Work hands on with the manufacturing floor to drive quality improvement and design projects to improve processes.
- Drive Customer Quality improvements utilizing the Quality Dashboard metrics.
- Manage non-conforming material, customer complaint, and Corrective/Preventive Action processes.
- Prepare sound responses to Customer-issued Corrective Actions.
- Lead internal and support external ISO audits.
- Lead Cost of Quality reduction initiative for given area of responsibility.
- Lead and track supplier/part qualifications & surveillance activities for assigned commodities or segments.
- Assist and train in complex part inspection/design and implement check fixtures.
- Monitor supplier performance to identify and drive process improvement, manage root cause analysis and corrective & preventive action implementation.
- Partner with Sourcing to establish methods of evaluating existing suppliers and approve potential suppliers through various assessment screens and quality metrics.
- Work with external customers, internal customers, and business leadership as needed to meet goals and communicate performance.
- Ability to identify and implement Best Practices.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and facilitation skills.
- Demonstrated team and empowerment skills.
- Strong PC skills (MS office suite).
Skills, Knowledge, and Education
- BS Technical degree or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience in quality or operations leadership.
