Scope and Purpose of Position
Plans and directs activities concerned with development, application and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials and products.
Tasks of the Position
- Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing and evaluation, utilizing knowledge in engineering fields such a chemical, electrical or mechanical
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for records, evaluation and reporting quality and reliability data
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities
- Plans and conducts the analysis, inspection, design, test and/or integration to assure the quality of assigned product or component
- Performs quality reviews of design documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including vendor quality manuals and company quality records
- Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
- Reviews all purchased products or components and provides input to the decision of whether to accept the product and future purchases from the vendor
- Documents data obtained during all quality assurance activities, consistent with company policies and procedures
- Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality assurance activities
- Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality assurance activities and provides recommended process improvements to management
- Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities
- Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management
- Direct technical and administrative workers engaged in quality assurance activities
- Direct and first call contact for customer and supplier quality concerns
- Leads problem solving teams for internal and external quality problems
- Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Ability to read blue prints, calipers, micrometers, etc.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 preferred
- Knowledge of APQP and Launch Management procedures
- Knowledge of Six Sigma
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics and their applications
- Possesses organizational, priority/time management, problem solving, conflict resolution and judgment
- Ability to determine causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about them
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and organizational skills to promote and sustain positive internal and external relationships
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills to compose and/or edit written materials
- Ability to establish constructive working relationships with customers and colleagues
- Stays informed of current practice developments within the profession, and uses educational and training opportunities to ensure continual professional competence.
Job Requirements
- Safety apparel (PPE) and uniform mandatory.
- Must be able to continuously lift 30 to 75 lbs, and occasionally carry a distance of 30 to 50 feet.
- Tasks that require continuous reaching, kneeling, grasping, twisting, bending, leaning and extension of upper body.
- Perform job requirements of a Production Associate as needed.
- Work daily assigned shift to include overtime, up to and including production Saturdays, shutdown days, and holidays as needed.
- Follow all company policies including ISO 9001 2008/ISO 14000 and QOS adherence (where applicable) and Company’s Associate Handbook and Safety Manual.

Qualification (Education/Training)
Associates degree OR High School Diploma/GED equivalent with 6 months of quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
