Job Summary:

The Quarry Plant Operator is responsible for the material production for day-to-day operations of our Aggregates crushing plant. This individual will coordinate the work activities and resources necessary for safely producing the highest quality products. This position will work closely and reports to the Plant Manager.

Essential Functions:

  • Promote safety culture through employee engagement prioritizing zero incidents, and complying with all company and federal safety policies and procedures
  • The day-to-day operation of aggregates crushing plant.
  • Proficient in safely operating crushing plant and equipment to produce quality products that meet applicable specifications and which exceed customer expectations
  • Ensure production goals are being safely achieved by taking necessary corrective actions to resolve safety/quality/reliability/process-related issues and to make the workplace safer
  • Maintain up-to-date records to include, but not limited to, inventory, maintenance, and inspection checklists
  • Participate in plant maintenance activities

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Two years or more experience working in Aggregates/Hot Mix Asphalt preferred
  • Previous MSHA experience preferred
  • Previous experience working in a structured safety program is a plus
  • Electrical and Welding experience a plus
  • Willingness to work variable shifts and overtime as needed
  • Strong mechanical knowledge and the ability to troubleshoot systems
  • Strong communication skills, proficient verbal and written English.
  • Comfortable working as part of a team in a fast-paced atmosphere
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Willingness to travel to other work locations on occasion

Travel by personal vehicle throughout the work region.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:

Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. The job involves sitting, standing, walking, climbing, reaching, and bending for brief periods in all types of weather. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear, to communicate to employees/visitors.
