The Director, Global Core Product R&D utilizes existing and emerging ingredients and process technologies to execute global core product R&D, driving measurable growth and profitability. Responsible for leading the technical teams activities with a strong focus on continuous improvement and productivity-based product development projects, taking them from initial brief to commercialization in collaboration with key cross-functional team members in global supply chain, operations, finance, innovation, and marketing.

A TASTE OF WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

• Leads core formula development, optimization, and troubleshooting globally.
• Establishes and approves global ingredient specifications for core menu.
• Manages technical product team while increasing resource capabilities and skills, introducing best-in-class practices to create a center of excellence.
• Lead technical contact/SME for core product/ingredients, providing support and insights to internal and external stakeholders.
• Brings advanced knowledge of food science/food chemistry with extensive knowledge of ingredient functionality/interactions.
• Keeps current on the latest industry methods and standards for potential ingredient application to our products.
• Establishes and standardizes globally analytical strategy, testing methodologies and documentation for core product development.
• Partner with insight and analytics on global sensory and consumer testing.

YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS:

• Bachelor's Degree Required: Food Science/Bakery Science/Food Technology/Engineering or related field; Master's Degree Required: Food Science/Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years progressive experience across technical and leadership roles in product development within the restaurant and/or consumer packaged goods manufacturing industries.
• Broad formulation, ingredient development and food processing knowledge in bakery.
• Consumer and sensory testing protocols and business understanding of statistical design and interpretation; formulation and application development.
• Passion for bakery and doughnuts!
• Ability to travel up to 30% with no destination restrictions.
