RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT PROJECT SPECIALIST
Position Summary/Objective
Execute on the development of materials. Document appropriate testing and design experiments in a timely manner. Organize and perform analytical details for in-house and customer requested testing of samples. Develop reports pertinent to request from OPS to qualify the samples or new development. Must be proficient in running lab analytical equipment. Work with suppliers of materials, equipment, and testing services to accomplish required developments.
Lab safety top priority. Organize and arrange with appropriate internal and external personnel the test plans to achieve qualifications. Work with process engineering to define processing parameters for transition of materials into

· Time/Project Management – Apply Project Mgt skills to define project scope and deliverables in concert with Sales & Marketing, Engineering, Operations and Quality teams. Actively manage APQP process for class 3.

· Proficient in running processing equipment
· Manage development projects to completion through appropriate approvals
· Lead major portions of development projects in coordination with internal and external resources
· Ability to create formal documentation for submission to customers demonstrating approval of materials
· Ability to create detailed reports on the findings of failure analysis using the appropriate equipment for obtaining results
· Coordinating work with OPS to meet their requirements for customer related requests.
· Coordinate the appropriate completion of documentation as it applies to the APQP process
· Facilitate Teamwork with peers and colleagues
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
· Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds at times.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Travel
Some travel is expected for this position.
Education and Experience:
· Associates degree with minimum 5 years’ experience

Pay: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
