Local Ace Hardware store near Grandview is looking for a full-time Sales Associate- Receiving Coordinator

The first and main responsibility of a Sales Associate-Receiving coordinator includes working closely with customers to determine their needs, answer their questions about our products and recommend the right solutions. You should also be able to promptly resolve customer complaints and ensure maximum client satisfaction. To be successful as a Sales associate, you should stay up-to-date with product features and maintain our store’s visual appearance in high standards.

Ultimately, the duties of a sales associate are to achieve excellent customer service, while consistently meeting the store’s sales goals.

The 2nd part of a Sales Associate- Receiving Coordinator is to work as a receiving associate. If you have had experience in working for a freight company, you will be considered a good candidate to work in a warehouse, as both these work on the same mechanics.

Receiving associates are required to be physically strong as they often have to do a lot of bending, stooping and lifting. Their job does not end until scheduled shipments are received and properly logged into the system. These people have to be alert and detail-oriented as a huge part of their work revolves around making sure that the shipments received are in accordance to the warehouse’s requirements, mentioned in the work order. Receiving coordinators will be trained to use a forklift.

Qualified candidate must be able to work on Wednesday and Friday (receiving days) from 5am to 2pm.

Qualified candidate must be able to work during normal hours on the other days.

*Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 7:30am-8pm

* Wednesday start time would be 5:00am.

* Friday start time would be 7:30

Saturday 7:30am to 6pm

Sunday 10am to 6pm

Most team members work two nights and one weekend day

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent sales service
  • Assess customers needs and provide assistance and information on product features
  • Maintain in-stock and presentable condition assigned areas
  • Actively seek out customers in store
  • Remain knowledgeable on products offered and discuss available options
  • Process POS (point of sale) purchases
  • Team up with co-workers to ensure proper customer service
  • Comply with inventory control procedures
  • Suggest ways to improve sales (e.g. planning marketing activities, changing the store’s design)
  • Study work orders to determine type and quantity of items to be received
  • Receive incoming materials from vendors or other warehouses
  • Assist in unloading trucks and preparing product to be put on shelves by sales associates.
  • Verify the quantity and type of each received item by matching it with work order
  • Reject damaged items and contact vendors to inform them about the quantity of such items
  • Ascertain that additional items are procured by creating and maintaining effective communication with vendors
  • Appropriately record any discrepancies in item quality or type
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to each item to ensure batch and product information is made visible
  • Respond to inquiries about customers’ orders by providing status of delivery and / or availability

Qualifications and Skills

  • Proven work experience as a receiving coordinator, Sales representative or similar role
  • Basic understanding of sales principles and customer service practices
  • Basic Math skills
  • Working knowledge of customer and market dynamics and requirements
  • Track record of over-achieving sales quota
  • Hands-on experience with POS transactions
  • Familiarity with inventory procedures
  • Solid communication and interpersonal skills
  • A friendly and energetic personality with customer service focus
  • Ability to perform under pressure and address complaints in a timely manner
  • Be physically strong
  • Availability to work flexible shifts
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs
  • Be able to work from 6am to 2pm on Wednesday when the Ace truck arrives.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $12.00 - $14.00 per hour
