Mission:

Complete precision painting of basic reciprocating compressors to engineering specifications. Improve methods, procedures, and quality in the Basic Assembly area. Perform any and all production tasks in the Assembly area as deemed necessary by the Value Stream Leader or his representative.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Paints basic compressors and ensures safe procedures are used in the painting process and in cleaning paint guns and paint area. Ensures paint filters are disposed of appropriately in the Hazardous Waste storage area.
• Inspects for serviceability and proper performance of all component parts or the assembled unit.
• Completes all required documentation or reports.
• Notifies supervisor and Quality Assurance personnel of any irregularities in components or assembled unit that could affect product reliability.
• Suggests or initiates change requests for product improvement or ease of assembly to supervision.
• Ensures quality craftsmanship is maintained at all times.
• Meets daily production goals.
• Works safely, keeps area clean and free of hazards at all times.
• Operates power lift truck as necessary.
• Makes suggestions to improve assembly area operation, reduce operating costs, increase efficiency and improve quality of product

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Exposure to manufacturing or mechanical assembly environment preferred.

Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Be flexible and a team player.
• Ability to use various types of hand and power tools.
• Must be able to read and interpret orders, bills of material, production schedule, etc.
• Must be able to read various precision measuring instruments as required by the job.
• Must be able to read, interpret and comprehend assembly drawings and work instructions.
• Must be able to write legibly and fill out required reports and forms.
• Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment and comprehend safety instructions and documentation.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs alone and up to 80 lbs with assistance, twist, turn, climb, stoop, kneel, push loads, pull on pipe wrenches and work in awkward positions.
• Understand inventory process.
• Understand basic math.
• Ability to read, write and comprehend English.
