Job Title: Receiving and Record Technician
Purpose:
Accurately and thoroughly receive and label all client samples that arrive at the CBR Tucson Facility by strictly adhering to internal SOPs. In addition to receipt and labeling, this position is also responsible for tracking and recording all associated records and data relative to each client sample.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: other duties may be assigned:
- Inspect and prepare all incoming stem cell samples and maternal blood draw samples and queue them for processing.
- Prepare maternal blood samples for shipment to the testing laboratory for infectious disease marker testing.
- Perform Kit Tracking responsibilities including updating data in the Kit Tracking Spreadsheet and communicating via phone and email with courier services
- Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal policies, processes, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions (WI) as well as external regulations as determined by regulatory agencies,
- Review own paperwork for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
- Work in a team environment.
- Maintain and stay up to date with all required company training
- Maintain donor, client, and employee confidentiality.
- Perform general lab cleaning and maintenance.
- Field phone calls from outside vendors and internal and external customers.
- Adhere to guidelines set forth in the safety manual and understand job hazard analysis.
- Promptly communicate safety issues deviations from procedures, anomalies, and abnormalities to their immediate Supervisor.
Basic Qualifications:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- A minimum of one year or related experience preferred.

Attention to detail: Checks information, picks up on inconsistencies and mistakes. Ability to make detailed comparisons between similar sources.
Data entry skills: Ability to accurately transcribe and verify data from electronic or paper records to a computer database.
Computer Skills : Basic knowledge of common computer software such as Microsoft Office, Internet Explorer. and Google Chrome.
Adaptability: Respond to changing constraints. Adapts own behavior to suit the situation.
Task Completion : Responds effectively to clear directions follows set procedures. Solves immediate issues, escalating where appropriate. Sees individual tasks through to completion.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to balance activities that require seeing, listening, touching. and verbalizing needs.
- Perform repetitive tasks while maintaining attention to detail for extended periods of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision. color vision and ability to adjust focus.
- May require frequent lifting/moving up to 25 lbs.
- Work hours dictated by the requirements of the lab: flexible to work alternate schedules.
- Able to work mid-shifts, weekends, and holidays.
- Responsible for monitoring work hours to avoid the accrual of overtime
