The Ball State University Center for Autism Spectrum Disorders welcomes applications for a Recreation Specialist during its annual 6-week summer day camp. The Recreation Specialist will supervise the Autism Day Camp scheduling and logistics of recreational activities. Multiple openings available.

Position Function
The Autism Day Camp Recreation Specialist is responsible for developing, scheduling, and coordinating recreational activities.
Minimum Education
HS diploma or equivalent.
Minimum Experience
1. Must have ability to obtain university-approved First Aid/CPR certification, when assignment.
2. Must earn certification in Professional Crisis Management (Training provided during first week of training.).

- Possess strong judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Possess the ability to problem solve in a proactive manner.
- Possess the ability to make sound decisions around participant safety and well-being.
- Possess the ability to work cooperatively with others.
- Possess the ability to relate well to Autistic children and their families.
- Willingness to participate in staff development activities, as assigned.
- Willingness to observe and follow all university and departmental philosophies, policies, procedures, and the University Standards of Conduct and Code of Ethics.
- Proficient spoken and written English.
- Must have ability to work long hours (10-12 hours daily)
