Job Summary and Qualifications

• You will develop a therapeutic intervention plan based on observations, tests and other information, evaluate patient’s participation in program activities and progress towards established goals and objectives and document response to various treatments and activities.
• You will serve as a member of a multidisciplinary treatment team that consults with other health care professionals in determining a total treatment plan and recommends changes based on individual observations and evaluations.
• You must be able to set limits as needed by recognizing potential behavior problems and does so in a caring and consistent manner.
• You will conduct various therapeutic recreation programs for patients including but not limited to physical activity programs, creative expressive programs (dramatics, music, arts and crafts) and special events and programs.
• You will work intensively with patients as part of their treatment program and participates when necessary to encourage participation.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Drivers License
• Bachelors Degree
• Recreation Therapist, or Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist
• Nonviolent Crisis Interv Inst, or Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Parkridge Valley offers behavioral health. We offer addictive disorder treatment services. These are for children, adolescents and adults. We have four distinctive campuses. These include Parkridge Valley Adult and Senior. These include Parkridge Valley Child and Adolescent campus. These also include Parkridge Valley Cleveland and Parkridge Valley West. Parkridge Valley West is a behavioral health hospital. We offer adult inpatient and outpatient behavioral health services. These are offered to residents of Marion and its surrounding counties.
