Foster Care Recruitment Specialist

One (1) Full-Time/40 hours/Non-Exempt/ $22.05- $27.30 per hour (DOE)

Pay differentials offered - must qualify through testing or verification for the following special competencies.

• Language Translation - Bi-cultural Spanish ($1.00 per hour)

• Bimodal Bilingualism - ASL Sign Language - Interpret from American Sign Language (ASL) to English, and English to ASL. ($1.00 per hour)

Oversees recruitment and management of Resource Family homes and the approval process for Resource Families in Lake, Mendocino, Sonoma and Humboldt Counties including reporting to agency Directors and Board of Directors in a monthly report. Utilize current best practices to engage and recruit Resource Families, research and build innovative practices. Works collaboratively with the FFA team on addressing issues related to approval or training needs. Acts as a trainer for prospective and current RFA homes, providing the trainings in office, virtually, or in the home as necessary. Reporting recruitment data regarding strategies/efforts and the approval process with the Program Supervisor and Program Director. Works closely with the Communications Department efforts related to recruitment efforts to coordinate messaging and strategies. Responsible for planning or attending special events, fundraising, or recruitment events or/and may offer support for the general agency; weekends and evenings may be necessary. Assists with the daily administrative duties of assisting with resource parent recruitment, keeping files up to date for potential resource families, reminder calls and schedules trainings for resource families. Schedules family assessments and initial home safety inspections for potential resource families in collaboration with screening committee members. Requests, collects, and tracks paperwork from families during the approval process. Other duties may be assigned. Updates appointment calendars, worksheets, vacancies and caseload assignments.

Education and/or Experience: One year certificate from college or technical school or 3 to 6 months related experience and/or training or a combination of education and experience. BA in Social Service field is preferred. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook, excellent written & verbal communication skills required. Diverse background and Spanish speaking Preferred, not required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This position may work within ALL other agency programs, consistent with their scope of practice, on a as needed basis. In addition, may require occasional flexible work schedule to meet the individualized needs of each client.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: CA Driver's License, Current Auto Insurance, Clean DMV Printout (No more than 3 points on your driving record), clear background check w/ DOJ, CACI, FBI, CPR and First Aid Certified. TB Test and Physical at the time of employment.
