Central Oregon Surgery Center is looking for a friendly and highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team for a full-time position. In this role, you will provide high quality and appropriate care by fulfilling patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include administering medication, organizing patient flow, collecting patient history, performing screening per provider guidelines, charting, providing pertinent information and assisting providers/nurses with various procedures as needed.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
Essential Job Functions:

Fulfills patient care responsibilities as assigned that may include checking schedules and organizing patient flow; accompanying patients to exam/procedure room; assisting patients as needed with walking transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc.; collecting patient history; performing screening per provider guidelines; assisting providers/nurses with various procedures; charting; relaying instructions to patients/families; answering calls, and providing pertinent information.

Fulfills clerical responsibilities as assigned that may include sending/receiving patient medical records ;obtaining lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc.; completing forms/requisitions as needed; scheduling appointments; verifying insurance coverage and patient demographics; managing and updating chards to ensure that information is complete and files appropriately.

Fulfills environmental responsibilities as assigned that may include setting up instruments and equipment according to department protocols; cleaning exam/procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patients visits to maintain infection control; keeping appropriate records; ordering, sorting, storing supplies; and restocking exam/procedure rooms.

Fulfills organizations responsibilities as assigned including respecting/promoting patient’s rights; responding appropriately to emergency codes; sharing problems relating to patients and staff with the immediate supervisor.

Fulfills clinical RN responsibilities that vary according to state law, which may include medical/ surgical asepsis; checking vital signs or measurements’ physical examination preparations, clinical pharmacology; drug administration through various routes including injections; prescription verifications with physicians orders; applying dressing and suture removal; bio hazard waste disposal and monitoring; therapeutic modalities; instructing patients with assistive devices, body mechanics and home care; laboratory procedures including Occupation Safety and Health Administrations (OSHA) guidelines; quality control methods; CLIA - waived testing; specimen handling such as urine, throat, vaginal, stool, and sputum; emergency triage and first aid. Registered Nurses must adhere to the RN scope of practice in the laboratory.

Maintains up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided to ensure the integration of information for use by the healthcare team, in order to ensure quality care.

Evaluates the identified problems, care provided, and patient’s responses are reassessed in order meet patient and family needs to ensure overall quality of care delivered.

Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.

Develops, discusses, and communicates a realistic problem list (plan of care) for each patient, in collaboration with each patient, family, and significant other in order to address all identified needs.

Assesses patient and family needs in order to provide quality care to assigned patients.

- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Registered Nursing (RN) Degree from an accredited institution, a community college program in nursing, or an accredited university.
- Appropriate certificate indicating passing grade for specific specialty if working in specialty departments; e.g., rheumatology nursing exam
- Minimum one year of recent experience working in a medical facility as a registered nurse and experience taking vital signs and giving injections.
Other Requirements
- Must posses a current CPR certification (ACLS, BLS) and current health records with the appropriate immunization to work in the health care field (Hepatitis B and Tuberculosis).
