The Miami County Republic is seeking a talented, motivated reporter to join its award-winning news team.
Job responsibilities include reporting and writing news and feature stories, covering meetings and community events, taking photographs, shooting video, designing pages, editing copy, and assisting with the management of website and social media content.
Applicants must have a degree in Journalism or a related field. Prior experience is preferred, although we are willing to train young journalists. Applicants must be proficient in AP Style, and knowledge of Adobe InDesign would be beneficial.
The Miami County Republic is based in Paola, Kan., and covers all of Miami County and the surrounding region, including the cities of Paola, Louisburg, Osawatomie and Spring Hill.
This position offers full benefits provided by News-Press & Gazette Company, which owns The Miami County Republic. Salary is negotiable depending on the applicant's experience.
