The Department
Market Risk Management is a multi-disciplinary financial derivatives team that applies state-of-the-art technology in performing highly dynamic work. Our mandate is to manage one of the most complex derivatives available today: retirement living benefit guarantees. In service of that mandate we: manage a $50 billion+ multi-asset hedging portfolio, do research and development of new retirement products, and provide modeling and analytics expertise for the business. We are part of a larger organization but cultivate the entrepreneurial spirit of a small start-up. Our work is cutting edge within the industry.
The Team
The Modeling Team (FQA - Financial Quantitative Analysis) develops, tests, and maintains the valuation framework to support the management of the hedging portfolio. The team also manages the automation around the daily large-scale Monte-Carlo simulations used to value the 300K+ customer accounts we manage. We are seeking team members to help us maintain and enhance a best-in-class valuation framework. The team is also responsible for driving automation to financial management reports and designing dashboards to automate market risk monitoring.
About the role
We are looking for a Tableau/BI developer to join our growing team. The hire will work with a multidisciplinary team to streamline/ automate the financial reporting process as well as expanding and optimizing overall reporting platform, for cross functional teams.
Principle Responsibilities
- Develop, design, and maintain Tableau dashboards and analytics
- Collect, refine, and prepare data for analytics and visualization
- Manage and utilize the Tableau platform to extract meaningful insights from it
- Prepare reports using various visualization and data modeling methods
- Define new KPIs and consistently measure in the datasets
- Test and publish dashboards and reports and schedule refresh
- Drill-down data and prepare reports with utmost accuracy
- Creating beta dashboards with a focus on user experience, correctness, and visibility
- Improve overall process in report management, collection, dashboard design, and entire reporting platform
- Monitoring reports and dashboards and make necessary changes
- Manage Tableau-driven implementations
- Actively manage the performance and usability of Tableau to get the desired result
- Collecting data from various data sources and normalize it
What we are looking for
- 2+ years of experience in a Tableau developer role, preferably with a global bank or in an insurance company.
- Detail and process oriented.
- Advanced working knowledge and experience working with Tableau and other visualization tools, relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases.
- Experience in solving any data and performance issues related to reports/dashboards and performing root cause analysis on processes to answer specific business questions and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Programming experience in Python and SQL a plus
- Familiarity with quantitative financial risk concepts, derivatives, hedging techniques a plus
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Self-starter
- Graduate degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Informatics, Information Systems, or another quantitative field, a plus.

For positions based in Woodland Hills, CA, the base salary range is $73,000-$92,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. In addition, we’re proud to offer a range of competitive benefits.
