Department Summary
As part of the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, we offer undergraduate (i.e., B.A. and B.S. Majors in Psychology) and graduate programs (i.e., PhD in Behavioral Sciences, Clinical Psychology, and Counseling Psychology). Our Clinical and Counseling programs are APA accredited.

Position Overview
This position assists with compilation and preparation of material for a research project involving human participants and also assists in conducting research projects. Responsibilities involve gathering data from self-report measures, interviews, laboratory behavioral tasks, measures of attention and cognition. This research involves work with both healthy individuals and patients experiencing psychopathology. Work is performed in the Department of Psychology and other facilities designed for clinic research in our local community.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with major course work in the field of assignment, and two years related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, experience and training



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of scientific research techniques, methods and procedures.
 Working knowledge of equipment used in related fields of research. 
Considerable knowledge of health, safety, and security precautions in keeping with type of research being done.
 Ability to set up and operate research instrumentation and equipment. Ability
to make accurate assays and to prepare reports, charts, or graphs on results.
 Ability to work effectively with fellow researchers, staff members, faculty, supervisors and students.

Job Duties

o
Collects, evaluates, and interprets research data to provide needed information to principal investigators and other researchers to include qualitative and quantitative analysis. Maintains laboratory and equipment in good working condition to support research endeavors.

Conducts a variety of research experiments according to protocol using a variety of methods, including use of self-report measures, interviews, laboratory behavioral tasks, blood work, and measures of attention as well as cognition.

o
Standardizes equipment, test procedures and quality controls, codes information, and presents descriptive data in regularly scheduled meetings.

o
Coordinates the research or lab-related efforts of students, technicians, and physicians.

o
Performs other duties as assigned.
