Provide basic technical support services required for conducting tests and experiments in a school or research laboratory within the Institute. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: academic and research faculty, co-workers. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Gather, compile and summarize data in conjunction with assigned scientific tests, experiments, etc
Job Duty 2 -
Collect and prepare samples for use in assigned tests
Job Duty 3 -
Prepare statistical analyses and maintain related records.
Job Duty 4 -
Operate various equipment used in research studies.
Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience with time lapse imaging of cellular growth and quantitative image segmentation
- Experience working with yeast (s. cerevisiae), including sterile technique
- Basic knowledge of molecular biology, biochemistry, and genetics
- Proficiency in Python, R, or MATLAB for data analysis and visualization
Bonus: Experience with confocal microscopy, genetic transformation, or single-cell RNA-seq
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
This job requires basic knowledge of research lab equipment and support processes and practices. Includes skill in data organization, statistical analysis and use of statistical and scientific computer applications.
