Position Highlights
The lab of Professor Shaowen Bao, PhD is seeking a research professional to lead a project studying noise-induced cell loss in the auditory cortex. The hired research scientist will plan and carry out the research, and participate in data analysis and manuscript writing. In addition to research, the hired research professional will carry out the duty of laboratory maintenance. This is a short-term position expected to last six (6) months or less in duration.

Duties & Responsibilities

Under the direction of Professor Bao:

  • Conduct experiments that involves brain injection, noise exposure, auditory brainstem response recording, behavioral testing, brain tissue collection/sectioning/staining/imaging.
  • Collects and performs data analysis for research reports, grant applications, etc.
  • Laboratory maintenance of equipment, techniques, methods, etc.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent advanced learned attained through professional level experience required.
  • One (1) year of relevant work experience required.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience with brain injection, noise exposure, auditory brainstem response recording, behavioral testing, or brain tissue collection/sectioning/staining/imaging is preferred.
