ABOUT PETALUMA COMMUNITY ACUPUNCTURE & REMEDY NATURAL PHARMACY

PCA is a busy community style acupuncture and herbal clinic founded in 2010. Remedy Natural Pharmacy, which fronts the acupuncture clinic, is the only independently owned holistic pharmacy in Petaluma and a source of carefully chosen, high-quality herbal products and supplements. Many of our products are made locally by small producers and we are always seeking out new vendors and ways to support local producers. The pharmacy fronts the clinic and serves both patients and the public. We pride ourselves on being knowledgeable about the products we carry and both clinical and front office staff are constantly studying and learning. We are seeking the right person to join us in the front, where they will interact with patients, regular customers and those new to either or both aspects of the business.

SKILLS YOU’LL NEED FOR THE POSITION:

· Retail experience (wellness retail, even better!)

· Comfortable and active on social media (you won’t need to develop the SM strategy but you will be implementing it)

· Grace under pressure – ability to multi-task and keep your cool

· Sense of humor (did we say that already?)

SKILLS WE’D REALLY LIKE YOU TO HAVE:

· Training and/or significant experience with natural products, especially herbal medicine

· Medicine making

· Spanish speaker

We are a small, closely knit team and we enjoy each other’s company. There is no hierarchy between the staff and the front and the clinical staff and we all pitch in to do what needs to be done and are willing to ask for help. Together, we’re responsible for ensuring that our patients and customers have a warm, nourishing and delightful experience and are eager to return and to spread the word about how great we are.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a wellness retail specialist and clinic receptionist you are the face of the business. and create the first, all-important impression of peace, calm and healing. You preside over the store and the front of the clinic and are responsible for executing all of the tasks that result in patients getting to their treatments smoothly and store customers purchasing products that are the right ones for them.

Responsibilities:

· Greeting people and connecting with each person who walks in the door

· Educating patients, potential patients & walk-ins about services and products

· Recommending products knowledgeably

· Selling products

· Answering phones and returning messages

· Scheduling and canceling appointments

· Accepting and recording payments responsibly & keeping a balanced bank

· Responding to emails, forwarding and writing emails, as necessary

· Inputting patient information, organizing charting & basic database management

· Light bookkeeping & data entry

· Maintaining abundant supply of all paperwork, handouts, etc. at desk

· Keeping inventory of herbs and supplements & acupuncture/office supplies.

· Troubleshooting when issues or concerns come up

· Keeping the front desk and pharmacy tidy

· Receiving, pricing & stocking deliveries

· Taking initiative to fill shift time with tasks that help clinic function at a level of excellence and support our team – these are busy shifts and there’s always something to do.

· Other duties as assigned by manager/owners

General Qualities:

· Strong communication skills

· Excellent attention to detail, multi-tasking, and organization

· Ability to stay focused in a fast-paced working environment

· Self-starting problem solver with a willingness to ask questions

· Powerful understanding of self-responsibility as part of a dynamic team

· Outstanding attendance and punctuality are a must

· Excellent computer skills (we are willing to train in specific programs)

· Knowledge of Gmail & Google applications

· Internet research and navigation

· Experience with excel, scheduling software, and electronic health records programs preferred

· Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel) and standard office equipment (printing, scanning, shredding, etc.)

· Ability to lift up to 40 pounds

· Be able to sit at a desk for up to 6 hours per day

· Experience and knowledge in natural medicine, acupuncture, herbs and EO’s is preferred

Pay for the right person is $23/hr, $18/hr while training. Perks include free weekly acupuncture treatment, product discounts and education, accrual of sick time, involvement with the inner workings of a successful alternative medicine clinic and holistic pharmacy and the potential for deeper involvement with the company.
