JOB DESCRIPTION – Senior Analyst, Revenue Cycle

The Senior Revenue Cycle Analyst reports to the Regional Director and analyzes data to assist revenue cycle and clinic operations team members in revenue management. The Primary responsibility of this role is to keep track of the organizations revenue and look for ways to improve it. The analyst will be responsible for analyzing incoming and outgoing revenue cycle data and provide recommendations to advance it.

POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Performs audits and analyses of accounts receivable/transactions to ensure the accuracy of the claims/receivable, identifies issues, and recommends solutions.

· Prepares, reviews, and analyzes financial reports to determine if goals are being met and implements procedures and processes to improve deficiencies.

· Reviews denied and underpaid claims for trends and analyzes data to make adjustments to processes to maximize timely reimbursement. Proactively identifies opportunities for revenue cycle improvement.

· Works with management to identify processes that negatively impact accounts receivable and coordinates a collaborative process for the development of policies, procedures, and internal controls.

· Generates reports including writing complex queries to perform analysis on data within the Revenue Cycle.

· Provides support for inquiries or issues related to improvement. Assists with research, diagnosis and problem resolution in areas.

· Assists in data interpretation, communication, and presentation around key performance indicators.

· Works onsite at specialty and primary care practices analyzing patient collection practices and provides needed education and work flow recommendations to leadership.

· Assists with special analysis and projects as needed.

· Supports and participates in practice assessments for current and potential clients.

· Other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field, 4-7 years of medical billing and accounts receivable management experience, and analytical skills in revenue cycle management within the healthcare industry. Knowledge of business analysis techniques with a working knowledge of all functional areas of the revenue cycle.

· Ability to understand, apply, and analyze financial data.

· Demonstrated ability to diagnose, evaluate and develop effective corrective action for problems in revenue cycle operations.

· Strong work ethic with the ability to self-start and work independently or as part of a diverse team.

· Detail oriented and organized with the ability to easily identify areas that require improvement.

· A fast learner that is adaptable to new technologies and applications.

· Possess a positive attitude and demonstrates honesty and integrity in all endeavors.

· Possess strong problem solving skills, communication, and computer skills.
