Statement of Purpose: This position is responsible to coordinate billing and clerical information between the third-party administrator, Office Coordinator, and departments within a multi-department and multi-site healthcare organization. The position works failed bills/claims in host (clearinghouse) and billing system.

Essential Responsibilities: Physicians Revenue Cycle Billing Representative/ hybrid-remote

• Job duties include but are not limited to performing daily billing tasks such as: daily failed bill, failed claims on host system and failed claims within billing system.
• Works 277 (claim status/claim acknowledgement report), rebills, late charges, and any additional assigned reports.
• Updates to excel (special project) reports capturing status of accounts billed/not billed.
• Prints and mails hardcopy claims along with any additional documentation needed and/or request to ensure accurate and timely processing and claim payment.
• Ensuring all duties are completed timely and accurately while meeting the mission and goals of CAN Community Health, as well as meeting the regulatory compliance requirements.
• Contact patients, insurance, and any third party for insurance/health plan to resolve claim edits or billing data.
• Works 277's rebills and late charges.
• Accurately processes daily charges capture into EMR, communication with clinical staff regarding billing.
• Maintain patient information; update data as necessary and communicate changes to the appropriate parties.
• Research and respond to patient/insurance billing inquiries in a timely manner.
• Issues adjusted, corrected, and/or rebilled claims to third party payers.
• Assures billing is compliant and up to date.

• Maintain confidentiality regarding patient/client, family, and employee in accordance with HIPAA, regulatory, professional and organizational standards.
• Demonstrate courtesy and respect in all interpersonal relationships with CAN Community Health clients, staff, and visitors.
• Cross train with others to increase understanding of CAN Community Health procedures.

Education/Professional Experience: Physicians Revenue Cycle Billing Representative/ hybrid-remote

• High school degree or GED required, associate degree preferred or three years billing experience in a medical setting.
• CRCR(Certified Revenue Cycle Representative) or CPB(Certified Professional Biller) preferred but not required.
• TB Testing
• COVID Vaccinated
• Annual safety training provided by CAN Community Health, Inc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Physicians Revenue Cycle Billing Representative/ hybrid-remote

• Must have billing experience with multiple payers and providers.
• Extensive knowledge of SME (Subject Matter Expert) for one payer preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Experience and working knowledge with EMR (electronic medical record) system; practically eClinicalWorks(preferred not required).
• Experience working with medical payers including Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial insurance.
• Understanding of basic medical billing process including coding (CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10) and terminology.
• Good written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to coordinate several tasks at one time.
• Able to work with minimal direct supervision.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse population.
