Join our Quality Team! We are looking for an RN Analyst - NSQIP. This role will work as a data abstractor to improve surgical quality.

This on-site position will assist in data abstraction from medical records for data entry, error correction, data submission and QA (Quality Assurance)/PI (Performance Improvement) projects surrounding the National Hospital Quality Measures and other QA/PI National projects.

Logan Health Medical Center is located in beautiful Kalispell, Montana. We are a short drive to Glacier National Park, numerous lakes, and endless recreational opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Current Montana RN License or a multi state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana; required. . BSN preferred.
  • Previous experience reviewing medical records, evaluating findings, and making a standard of care determination required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ clinical experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated teaching ability and must be adept at interpreting policies and procedures and ensuring effective application of same preferred.
  • Possess and maintain computer skills to include working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn other software as needed. Database entry and/or management experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality improvement for patient safety, knowledge and experience preferred. HIPAA regulation and compliance knowledge, confidentiality and ethical practices required.

Job Specific Duties:

  • Conducts medical record reviews in a proficient and timely manner.
  • Performs accurate and timely data entry into appropriate databases.
  • As applicable to assigned area(s); assists with the medical staff peer review process and other record review requests for data abstraction, trending, analysis, and follow up as assigned.
  • Exhibits critical thinking skills when evaluating medical records and making recommendations.
  • Effectively utilizes all necessary computer applications per assigned area(s) protocol.
  • Exhibits advanced understanding of National Core Measure Indicator abstraction requirements.
  • Proactively maintains a high level of understanding of the changing indicator requirements (both volume and data requirements).
  • Collects, analyzes, and interprets information in relation to clinical processes and standards of care.
  • Acts as a resource for other stakeholders related to Core Measure activity.
  • Communicates and interrelates professionally and exhibits a positive rapport.
  • Efficiently and timely performs follow through on issues identified and is active in performance improvement.
  • Participates in submission of Core Measure data for CMS and Validation Process.
