Founded in late 2019, Electric Sheep (Robotics) is an autonomy company with a simple focus - eliminating tedious, repetitive manual outdoor work. We see this as the logical culmination of the industrial revolution and a necessary step in technology. Since our founding in late 2019, we have released our first product - a self driving commercial lawn mower, designed to help municipalities and schools struggling to maintain parks and playgrounds.
The Role:
We are looking for a Full-Time Robot Test Tech to test software changes and upgrades on our robotic mowing systems. In this role, you will report to our Systems Engineering leader.
Responsibilities:
Run a daily test plan on the latest released software to expose issues- Run tests on demand as requested by the software engineering team
- Upgrade hardware on the systems as requested by the systems engineering team
- Work closely with software and systems teams to make improvements to product and processes
- Expose abilities and limitations of our products
- Create detailed bug reports in Jira to help software team fix issues
- Test product according to company-set safety and compliance standards
- Participate in the development of current and future platforms
- Occasionally demonstrate the product to potential customers
Requirements:
High School Diploma or higher is required- Robotics experience is NOT required, but definitely a plus
- Must have previous test experience
- Collaborative, must work well within a team and contribute to the overall success of the company
- Able to self-manage within a geographically dispersed team
- Good communication skills - both oral and written
- Interest in robotics and engineering
- General understanding of electronics is required
- Willingness to learn
- Detail-oriented
- Work well in a fast-paced, ever changing environment
- Able to be outside and test year-round in the Houston climate
Nice-to-Haves:
College degree- Experience operating Zero Turn Mowers or experience in the landscaping industry
- Electronic troubleshooting and repair experience
- Machinery troubleshooting and repair experience
- Robotics experience
- Linux experience
