Pay rate: $15.00
Position Summary:
Under the supervision of the Saganing Laundry Supervisor, maintain the cleanliness of linens utilized in guestrooms and by Saganing Food and Beverage Department. During periods of high occupancy this position may be requested to clean guestrooms.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate functions of all washers, manual and automatic, towel folders, ironer and feeder, and dryers.
- Be familiar with wash temperatures, formulas and gauges for control.
- Sort and separate damaged or stained linen.
- Load and unload washer, sorting linens. Weigh linens prior to loading. Transfer washed laundry to dryers.
- Fold sheets and blankets.
- Complete in the most efficient, consistent and in an organized possible manner, the job assignment or special project given on a daily basis.
- Observe safety rules and maintain a safe environment.
- Maintain knowledge of chemicals used in washing and related hazards.
- Note any item needing a work order and bring same to Saganing Laundry Supervisors attention.
- Make Saganing Laundry Supervisor immediately aware of any difficulties encountered during the course of the shift or anything that is unusual in your area of responsibility.
- Review work schedule report to work as scheduled and on time and be prepared to work.
- Abide by safety regulations. Use safety equipment where required. Use all equipment, machinery, cleaning products and materials issued strictly according to the proper methods and or instructions.
- Follow proper storage of the equipment issued as required.
- Practice Saganing Hospitality Rules with every internal and external guest.
- Assist in maintaining a pleasant environment by removing and disposing of trash, cleaning up spills and clutter, and keeping work areas organized.
- Provide excellent customer service for all internal and external customers of the operations at all times. Provide solutions for customer concerns and continually focus on customer service as our top priority.
- Must maintain strict confidentiality and present a positive, professional demeanor and image at all times.

Contacts/Purpose of Contacts:
- Contact with guests when providing normal or unusual requests.
- Contact with departmental team members and Laundry Supervisor to report day to day operational needs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and applicable safety practices.
- Knowledge of laundry cleaning equipment and procedures.
- Skill in the use of cleaning supplies, chemicals, and disinfectants.
- Ability to communicate effectively in the English language both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to safely use cleaning products and safely operate cleaning equipment.
- Ability to follow and understand oral and written instructions.
- Ability to work as a team member in a structured work environment.
- Ability to work with timeliness and thoroughness.
- Ability to work and finish multiple tasks.
- Ability to be tactful and professional, poised and friendly, attuned to details, and self-motivated.
Physical Demands:
- Frequent use of arms, hands, wrists, fingers associated with laundry procedures.
- Frequently bend, twist and reach with arms and hands.
- Required to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Occasionally lift/push up to 60 pounds.
Work Environment:
- Normal commercial laundry environment. This work involves moderate risks or discomforts, which may require following special safety precautions in a hotel setting.
- Must possess sufficient stamina to work under all types of laundry room conditions including hot/steam, and able to lift, carry, push, or pull a variety of materials.
- Exposure to various biohazard chemicals, laundry chemicals, and materials.
- Situations where safety equipment is needed.
- Extended hours and irregular shifts may be required.
Job Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be able to pass background check to meet the employment eligibility requirements as they pertain to the position.
Desired Qualifications:
- Three months of hotel housekeeping or laundry experience.
License, Certification, or Special Requirements:
- Native American preference shall apply to all positions.
