Position Summary:

This position consists of, but is not limited to, providing office support to outside and inside sales representatives in the aggregate product line. This position will be based out of the Central Texas District Office located in San Antonio, TX. Sales Coordinator responsibilities include:

  • Create and manage quotes and sales orders for outside sales reps
  • Respond to ticket & invoice requests from customers and provide general after-sales support when needed
  • Assist customer service/dispatch with requests to ensure timely order fulfilment
  • Work with internal departments and external customers to create and provide weekly, monthly, and other assigned reports
  • Collect and file:
    • Tax exemption certificates
    • Job information sheets
  • Process credit and rebills for tickets and invoices with billing errors
  • Run aging reports for customers and assist outside reps in maintaining A/R



Preferred Requirements:

  • A degree is preferred, but not a requirement. Experience in customer relations and order processing will be considered in lieu of degree with demonstrated skills and other aspects relevant to this position.
  • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software a plus
  • Experience working with Department of Transportation DOT and the Federal Railroad Administration a plus.
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ability to learn new applications
  • Strong communication skills, oral and written
  • Candidate must be able to work a M-F in-office schedule

  • Industry Knowledge – basic knowledge of how customers use our products (i.e. utilities, building and pavement bases, concrete plants, asphalt plants, etc.) and basic knowledge of aggregate plant processing, quality control, products, and dispatch functions
  • Interpersonal Communication Skills –excellent verbal/written to establish and maintain good working relationships with customers.
  • Technology Capabilities - proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and internal systems (i.e. JDE, etc.)
  • Reliability - Self-starter with excellent planning and administrative skills, ability to prioritize multiple objectives, attention to detail, and excellent time management skills
  • Ethics and integrity – comply with best practices; and strict compliance with the Company’s Ethics policy and Code of Conduct
  • Customer Service – Ability to build strong customer relationships
  • Teamwork - Ability to work independently and in team environments
  • Safety – adhere to safety regulations (state, federal, and company) while at Martin Marietta plants, on customer jobsites, and at all times.


Working Conditions

Most time is spent in an office environment with occasional visits to quarry locations and off-site visits with customers. Ability to work overtime and travel for training, as needed.
