Fairchild Equipment, one of the premier material handling dealerships in the Midwest, is seeking a self-starting stable, hard-working, dependable and motivated Sales Representative for new and used equipment. This position requires you to work with customers on a day-to-day basis to achieve profitability, growth and account penetration within our Northern Wisconsin Market. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for generating new business within our Northern Wisconsin Market defined as the counties of Barron, Bayfield, Buffalo, Burnett, Chippewa, Dunn, Eau Claire, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Pepin, Pierce, Polk, Rusk, Saint Croix, Sawyer, Trempealeau, Vernon and Washburn.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain business relationship with current and prospective customers.
  • Promote, sell, and secure orders for our Yale and Hyster division.
  • Demonstrate products and services that best suits the needs of the customer.
  • Develop proposals and quotes for current and prospective customers.
  • Analyze the territory’s potential and determine the value of existing and prospective customers.
  • Plan and organize personal sales strategy.
  • Supplies management with reports on customer needs, problems, competitive activities, and potential for new services.
  • Ability to organize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to take on additional duties and responsibilities as requested by the Director of Sales.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Knowledge of forklift and/or heavy equipment industry a plus.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • Adapt and work in a fast pace environment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school or GED equivalent education preferred.
  • 3+ years of sales experience in related industry.
  • Forklift industry experience preferred, but not required.

  • The visual acuity requirements:
    • The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
  • The conditions the worker will be submitted to in this position:
    • The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
    • The worker is occasionally required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
    • The worker is subject to extreme cold: Temperatures typically below 32 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity.
    • The worker is subject to extreme heat: Temperatures above 100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Consideration should be given to the effect of other environmental conditions such as wind and humidity.
    • The worker may be subject to oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
