Summary:
This leadership position will be reporting directly to the Quality Manager. The Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for the effective cleaning and maintaining of the entire processing, packaging, and warehouse areas to ensure the plant is kept in a clean and sanitary condition. This position will support continuous improvement of sanitation and hygienic programs and oversees activities of sanitation employees. Directs cleaning of equipment and work areas. Maintains sanitation documentation and is involved in regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to correct deficiencies.
Job Duties:

• Assist in the development and implementation of strategic sanitation programs and processes to ensure that sanitary performance meets food safety and quality requirements
• Manage annual sanitation budget forecast and performance
• Work with vendors to establish effective and efficient sanitation needs
• Ensure that the plant is cleaned and ready to start production on time
• Maintain a safe work environment – Always raise safety awareness for chemical handling and equipment operation
• Maintain open communication with management, QA, and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommend changes to improve sanitation standards
• Lead training and set safety goals for sanitation team
• Participate in audits, facility inspections and coordinate inspections with production and Quality Assurance team members
• Develop and direct sanitation team members by establishing and evaluating performance expectations and providing necessary training
• Review and verify all sanitation paperwork and maintain documentation
• All other duties as assigned

Supervisor Responsibilities:
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:

• Associate degree in science related field; or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years or more related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience
• A good knowledge of Current Good Manufacturing Practices and food safety.
• Experience handling sanitation chemicals.
• Must possess a basic understanding of math and knowledge of liquid measures.
• Knowledge of various chemicals used in the sanitation process
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Ability to supervise employees and lead by example
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Must be able to work in a climate that varies in temperature
• Basic computer knowledge (Microsoft Office applications)
• Skill in organization and prioritization, with attention to detail
