Sensei Biotherapeutics is seeking a collaborative, creative, and highly motivated Scientist II or Senior Scientist to join our Biologics Discovery team in Rockville, Maryland. The scientist will work to support our various clinical & pre-clinical immuno-oncology programs in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment. The individual will report to the Sr. Director of Biologics Discovery.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, optimize, and execute experiments for in vitro/ex-vivo analysis of primary mouse and human cells using a variety of immunological and biochemical methods (e.g., multi-parametric flow cytometry (BD FACSymphony), ELISpot, cytokine analysis (Bio-Plex, MSD).
  • Provide expertise in standard immunological techniques, assist with troubleshooting and experimental design.
  • Analyze, document, organize, and present results in group meetings. Maintain a detailed laboratory notebook.
  • Maintain FACS and flow cytometry instruments as well as other related equipment. Order supplies, maintain reagents and consumable stock.
  • Contribute to a dynamic workplace culture that embraces teamwork and innovation.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Skills and abilities:

  • Highly skilled in planning and executing multi-parametric flow cytometry experiments on BD FACSymphony instruments. Experience with FACS sorting on Sony MA900 Cell Sorter.
  • Knowledge of immunological assays using blood, tissue and isolated primary cells, employing proper sample handling and good laboratory practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and become proficient with new technologies and instrumentation.
  • Strong candidates will be creative, collaborative, and passionate about drug discovery.
  • Excellent organization and planning skills, the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, strong written and verbal communication skills, and a strong motivation with a dedicated work ethic.

Qualifications:

  • PhD with 2+ years of relevant industry or academic experience.
  • Strong background in oncology, immuno-oncology, and/or drug development in the industry highly preferred.
  • Ability to present data clearly within the team as well as cross-functional area research teams.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software (i.e., FACSDiva, FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, Microsoft Office) and familiarity with basic methods of statistical analysis.
