About the position:

We're looking for a Security Guard to guard the facility and property against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry. Performs any combination of the following duties. You will:

  • Patrol buildings and grounds.
  • Examine doors, windows and gates to determine that they are secure.
  • Warn violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking or carrying forbidden articles.
  • Alert authorities when necessary.
  • Maintain Security Log, record data, such as property damage, unusual occurrences, malfunctioning machinery or equipment.
  • Monitor Security Cameras and door access systems.
  • Assist to manage outside contractor's entering facility.
  • Perform required safety inspections of fire suppression and other emergency equipment.
  • Secure and turn on Facility lighting circuits.
  • Monitor HVAC equipment.
  • Perform various general duties which may include delivery service, record retention, and general utility work.
  • Inspect and maintain designated equipment and machinery.

About the schedule:

This position is 1st shift and will work have overtime as required. Base hours to be discussed during interview process.

About you:

  • A high school diploma or GED is preferred
  • Two or more years of experience as a security guard is required
  • Must have a valid NY State Driver's License
  • All persons engaged in security guard activities must be registered with the New York Department of State (DOS) and complete all required training

It would be great if you had:

  • Previous law enforcement experience
  • Management/supervisory experience
  • Ability to be liaison between agencies
  • Criminal Justice education
  • Military training
  • Emergency Services experience

About the total compensation package:

Salary - The salary for this position is $18.00 - $19.90/hour
