This Accountant/Fiscal Analyst II position will work collaboratively with department faculty and staff, MUSC & MUSCP Purchasing/Accounts Payable team members, and various internal and external stakeholders. Will be responsible for coordinating and performing accounting operations including but not limited to procurement, travel reimbursements and general accounting duties supporting the Department of Radiology and Radiological Science. Serves as a departmental liaison with central MUSC & MUSCP procurement and accounts payable to keep management, faculty and staff abreast of policies and procedures. Assists the Business Manager with ensuring the overall sovereignty of the department including annual budget preparation and expenditure management throughout the year.Entity

Assists the Business Manager with ensuring the overall sovereignty of the department including annual budget preparation and expenditure management throughout the year.
1.1 In accordance with state, MUSC and MUSCP procurement policies & guidelines, responsible for securing quotes for equipment and supplies, preparing purchase requisitions and reimbursement documents for submission to MUSC and MUSCP procurement and accounts payable on behalf of the department, faculty, residents, staff, academic and research programs. 35%
1.2 Maintain recordkeeping for individual budget to actual reports for faculty, residents, education programs and some research funds. After review by accounting manager responsible for distribution of individual quarterly reports or as periodically requested. Monitor balances and report significant variances in spending to accounting manager for review. 15%
1.3 Responsible for monthly reconciliation of departmental expenses in UMS using financial reports from Smartstream & UMA infinity as well as review and evaluate organizational financial records for accuracy. When necessary resolve any specific accounting errors or outstanding balances. 10%
1.4 Assist accounting manager with routine biweekly dual employment requisition preparation and submission to University payroll. Coordinate with staff and University HR to complete, submit and obtain annual approval of all required dual employment paperwork.10%
1.5 Perform annual inventory reporting under supervision of accounting manager. Update AIM asset inventory as required and report lost inventory to public safety. Responsible for transfer of department assets to surplus inventory as needed. Works with accounting manager to maintain academic office space including but not limited to maintenance/housekeeping requests and work orders. 10%
1.6 Provide support to accounting manager during annual tripartite mission based departmental budget preparation and ensure adherence to departmental budget throughout the year by assigning proper project and account codes to lessen annual budget variances.5%
1.7 Responsible for monthly billing, collections and posting of payments in UMS and Smartstream for Radiology Protocol Review fees as well as any other ad hoc department receivables.5%
1.8 Works with administrative team to complete on boarding of all new faculty and staff.5%
1.9 Perform special projects and/or additional assignments, as needed to keep the department running smoothly and makes recommendations to accounting manager for procedural improvements and assist with implementation. 5%
MUSC Minimum Requirements:
A high school diploma and three years professional experience in a related area such as accounting, auditing, finance or commercial lending. A bachelor's degree with multiple accounting courses may be substituted for two years of the required work experience.
