We're looking for a a few experienced Buyers on our purchasing team. The Senior Buyer will lead daily work of a team of buyers and assistant buyers. They resolve customer and supplier issues so that parts can be quoted and bought on a timely basis to fill immediate customer demand and replenish inventory for anticipated customer demand. They ensure supplier compliance with requirements for the customer and governmental standards, acts, or mandates.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBLITIES - Senior Buyer

  • Interact with customer
  • Use daily inventory replenishment reports to identify material requiring purchase
  • Master Data setup and updates
  • Pricing entry into SAP system
  • Resolve pricing and supplier payment concerns
  • Escalate or support buyer and assistant buyer to escalate to issues to management
  • Negotiate with suppliers to satisfy the requirements of the customer
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
  • Forecast and order; issues PO’s on a timely bases to assure delivery requirements to customer are met
  • Manage disputes
  • Reivew SAP IDocs
  • Use on-line screens, queries, reports and tools where necessary and updates customer system as needed
  • Keep management informed of any difficulties or issues
  • Maintains any statistical data required to monitor processes or report/manage KPIs
  • Document processes used in performing job responsibilities, audit yearly work instructions
  • Train team members
  • Identify, propose and lead process improvements
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Work in Dearborn office at least three days a week
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of business experience,
  • 2 years in an independent buying position with forecasting analysts and purchase orders created
  • Associate degree or higher; desired in purchasing and/or supply chain
  • Organized with great attention to details
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Works well under pressure
