As a Senior DevOps Systems Engineer you will...
- Advocate for, design, and build a high caliber infrastructure of industry standard software development tools
- Act as a digital change agent for a sector in transition to modern software development practices
- Identify trends and technologies to assess needs in advance of requirements
- Resolve systems issues; performing root cause analysis, modifying configurations, diagnosing issues, scripting, and other tasks as needed.
- Formulate processes and DevSecOps procedures and communicate standard methodologies
- Be empowered to design, build and maintain, CI/CD tools, such as GitLab, Artifactory, Fortify, Puppet, and Docker
- Craft innovative solutions to address open source challenges and security controls in a secured operations environment.
Qualifications
You meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...
- Possess a BS degree (Computer Science preferred) or additional 5 years' experience.
- Have 5+ years' demonstrated experience as an operations engineer.
- Are proficient in developing task automation.
- Have the ability to work independently on a wide variety of given tasks with minimal direction.
- Are willing and able to work well with a variety of people with differing needs and experience.
- Have or are able to obtain an IAT Level II Certification including though not limited to Security+ CE Certification.
- Are willing to work a significant portion of the time in a closed area.
- Hold or are able to obtain an Interim Secret level security clearance by your start date and can ultimately acquire Secret level clearance. You will be subject to a government secret clearance investigation and must meet the requirements for access to classified information, if selected. Eligibility requirements include U.S. citizenship.
- Can demonstrate that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19. To ensure the safety and well-being of the community, APL has established a policy requiring that all staff be vaccinated against COVID-19. You will go above and beyond our minimum requirements if you...
- Have experience running in a RedHat Enterprise Linux environment.
- Have knowledge of classified computer facility operational procedures and NISPOM, DSS, RMF and/or other DOD security regimes.
- Managed a DevOps/Agile working environment.
- Have experience with heterogeneous Windows and Linux environments and data center operations including infrastructure, systems monitoring, and computer clusters of 100+ computers.
- Have a demonstrated ability and interest in documenting systems and operational procedures.
- Preference for current security clearance.
