The Boeing Company’s Product System Training (PST) organization is currently seeking Senior Employee Development Specialists to join their team in Kennedy Space Center, FL.

The qualified specialists will be team players that will provide technical instructor-led trainings covering a broad range of initial technical certifications and re-certifications that support the Florida Space Coast Operations programs for Commercial Crew, International Space Station, Space Launch System and proprietary programs.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Initial Training and Recertification will include, but is not limited to:

    o Thermal Protection Systems

    o Orbital Tube Weld

    o Powered Industrial Trucks / Cranes

    o Shop floor tools such as MESci, PSDS, REDARS, NCM

    o Mechanical

  • Perform as a qualified instructor in a specialized content area

  • Cross train other instructor

  • Identify potential issues that impact performance and lead the performance analysis and development of improvement recommendations

  • Solid understanding of Boeing specifications such as DPIs , HBPS/HBPI, SCGPS, and BAC specs

  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in support of root cause analysis, corrective action, and training related audit activities


Additional position responsibilities/requirements may include but are not limited to:

  • Capability to cross train in areas such as Electrical, Structural, Environmental Health and Safety, and other technical disciplines

  • Oversee curriculum development, review of course content and instructional materials, testing and system access requirements

  • Identify business specific learning objectives and adapt curriculum content and delivery methods

  • Prepare training areas to be teach ready

  • Ensure classrooms and other facilities are stocked with materials and supplies

  • Verify students have required applications and prerequisites prior to class

  • Shadow and/or 5S (Sorting, Simplifying, Sweeping, Standardizing, Self-Discipline) to improve operational efficiency

  • Deploy development tools and monitor implementation

  • Facilitate kitting

  • Provide informal training including but not limited to on the job training, Advanced Craftsman Learning Center, workplace coaching or consulting

  • Prepare pre-class task (obtain courseware, exams, set-up, etc.)

  • Perform post class cleaning to restore training area to its original “teach ready” condition in all training areas

  • Candidate must have a positive attitude, who takes initiative and able to develop a strong rapport with teammates and customers

  • Travel up to 20% of the time (excluding during initial cross training, which may be more)

  • Must be available to work variable shifts, mainly 1st or 2nd shift

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience using excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with leaders and colleagues

  • 1+ year related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Ability to travel 20% of the time or more as needed

  • Willing and able to work a variable shift

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 1+ years of experience with technical specifications

  • 1+ years working with NASA Space Programs

  • 1+ years Orbital Tube Weld or Thermal Protection Systems

  • 1+ years experience delivering training in aerospace or manufacturing environment (classroom, on the job training, coach, etc.)

Typical Education & Experience:
Typically 10 or more years' related work experience or related military experience. Advanced degree (e.g. Bachelor, Master, etc.) preferred, but not required.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range: $90,100 - $121,900
