Position Scope
We are looking for a resourceful, detail-oriented, and strategically minded Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance Team. This role is highly visible across functions. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and proven experience working in a dynamic multi-entity organization. Senior Financial Analyst has the option to operate from headquarters in White Plains, NY or from our downtown Manhattan office.
Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Senior Financial Analyst will have direct interaction with the CFO and other executives across the company. To be successful the Senior Financial Analyst should be able to perform a variety of financial activities including planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting. Additional responsibilities include assisting with financial statements and reports, developing financial models, preparing projections, and performing research and analysis as may be required by leadership. Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving skills and the ability to present financial information and models in a concise and easily comprehensible manner are of critical importance.
Role and Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains complex financial models and exhibits for purposes of planning, budgeting, forecasting, project/partner development, and company strategy.
- Provides detailed and complex financial analysis and modeling in support of finance, accounting, and operations.
- Work closely with the Director of Finance and CFO to help prepare financial reports and management presentations.
- Reviews ongoing financial performance and measure/understand variance and performance metrics.
- Helps support banking related activities and relationships, including lines of credit, working with partners on funding, advances, managing borrowing bases, repayments.
- Assists in the development of strategic plans for existing, new, or proposed business operations.
- Provides analysis and evaluation of cost/expense problems and profit improvement opportunities existing within current business activities.
- Analyzes and communicates weekly metrics, monthly results, quarterly and annual projections.
- Performs and critiques economic evaluation justifications for capital expenditures.
- Partners with Business Unit leaders reviewing and interpreting financial results and productivity reports.
- Analyzes and explains variances to budget and develops actions with business unit leaders.
- Assists with reviews and analysis of expenses.
- Creates and maintains budgets and forecasts for multiple internal entities.
- Creates ad hoc analysis for management.
- Identifies trends and developments in competitive environments and presents findings to senior management.
- Presents and discuss analysis with upper management.
- Collaborate with all key functions in valuation of acquisitions and pre-acquisition financial analysis.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
§ Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with 3 - 5 years related experience in any of the following desirable: Corporate Finance, Corporate Treasury, Commercial/Investment Banking, Financial Consulting, Accounting, Strategic Planning, Corporate Development, & Business Operations Financial Analysis.
§ Attention to detail, analytic consistency, data integrity and solution-oriented mindset.
§ Clear communication skills – verbal, written and through presentations. Ability to break down complex ideas into understandable and concrete messages.
§ Strong organization & exceptional analytical skills required.
§ Self-starter, proactive businessperson in a finance role including solid business acumen and critical thinking.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with tight deadlines.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Must have excellent work ethic; willingness to work the hours necessary to get the job done, especially during period close and reporting cycles.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment requiring minimal supervision.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to work under pressure and meet ambitious deadlines.
