Responsible for assisting the department leader in the preparation of the annual budget and monthly financial analysis. Performs budget system recurring maintenance and prepares ad hoc reports and analysis as needed” instead of assisting the Director of Budget and Financial Planning.
- Performs financial/budget analysis, research budget to actual variances, and prepares reports as established by department protocol and procedures
- Participates in the budgeting process. Assists with budget model development and maintenance
- Provides training to leadership team on the budget software system
- Assists the Director of Decision Support in the monthly download of data and monthly report distribution and other projects in support of department
- Provides assistance to other departments to explain variances, resolve outstanding problems and reconcile differences thoroughly and accurately
- Participates in department meetings, committees and in-services as necessary
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Experience:
- Four years exp. in financial planning, analysis and budgeting.
- Experience in not-for-profit or healthcare industry a plus.
- Strong analysis, forecasting, and general ledger skills.
- Experience doing financial analysis in a full-risk healthcare environment, including modeling revenue and cost PMPM
- Experience analyzing medical cost per members

- Must be able to speak, read and write English
- Must be able to work independently
- Must be capable of handling highly confidential information
- Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in the finance & accounting
- Performs a high level of customer service throughout the organization
- High level of proficiency in MS Office systems, able to create advanced excel models.
- Proficiency in Adaptive Planning Software a plus
