As a Sr Pricing Analyst, you will be responsible for conducting pricing research & analysis to support the successful design and development of Thomson Reuters pricing approach across our product portfolio. You will develop systems for collecting and analysing data to compile relevant findings and trends to support the price setting and price execution processes. You will play a key role in designing & conducting pricing research and keep informed on pricing analysis methods and industry trends to develop high impact value-based pricing strategies. In this role, you will also be responsible for developing regular reporting and monitoring of price performance and develop actionable insights to further optimize price/value capture. The Pricing Analyst will partner closely with Commercial Excellence, Product, Product Marketing and Finance teams to ensure we effectively implement our pricing strategies and identify metrics to determine performance of pricing changes.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Sr Pricing Analyst, you will:

  • Conduct pricing research & prepare analysis to gain insight into market trends, pricing strategies, evaluate willingness to pay, product/price positioning utilizing best practices to support price setting.
  • Create models to assess price elasticity, feature/price trade-offs, and model the impact of pricing strategies to profitability.
  • Track customer engagement & market trends to show effective pricing strategies for existing and new segments.
  • Support the maintenance of price databases and execution of price book updates, including annual price increases and discount guidelines and ensure these are effectively delivered for price execution.
  • Develop regular price performance reporting, prepare & present findings, and actionable insights to improve pricing action effectiveness.
  • Define and conduct pricing analysis to inform pricing strategy for new, renew and upsell/cross-sell offerings.
  • Support the financial & commercial validation of pricing proposals for strategic projects & provide objective analysis comparing the outcomes of different pricing strategies.
  • Support ad-hoc investigations and projects aimed at improving pricing across the business.
  • Collaborate across functions on developing and implementing competitive pricing strategies.

About You

You’re a fit for the role of Sr Pricing Analyst if your background includes:

  • 5+ years of experience in pricing strategy & execution for B2B companies, preferably SaaS
  • Experience in setting strategic and tactical pricing to drive performance in technology intensive industries preferred.
  • Exhibits a desire to learn about and understand pricing strategies and execution methodologies.
  • Insight led, with capability to obtain, interpret and apply customer and market research.
  • Ability to translate data into insights through visualization, and insights into actions.
  • Ability to distil complex information via a methodical and structured approach.
  • Ability to influence various stakeholders, including senior management, by communicating clearly and persuasively.
  • Experience in managing projects preferred.
  • Experience with PowerBI, Alteryx, Tableau and/or SQL useful
